Senior Community Service Employment Program (SCSEP)
The Area Agency on Aging administers the Senior Community Service Employment Program (SCSEP) in each of the seven counties in Region 2.
The goal of the Senior Community Service Employment Program (SCSEP) is to help participants build skills and confidence and ultimately secure unsubsidized employment in the community. Interested individuals can apply regardless of their employment history or educational level. SCSEP participants serve their communities while gaining valuable on-the-job part-time training through paid temporary assignments with local non-profit and governmental agencies (host agencies). There are also training opportunities offered outside of the host agency which include computer, budgeting and professional development classes.
Eligibility Requirements:
• Be 55 years of age or older
• Be unemployed
• Meet 125% of federally established poverty income guidelines
• Reside in a West Alabama Regional Commission SCSEP authorized county: Bibb, Fayette, Greene, Hale, Lamar, Pickens or Tuscaloosa
