Pancakes for a Purpose

  • Brent Senior Center 10445 Alabama 5 Centreville, AL, 35042 United States (map)

Hosted by New Beacon Hospice & Brent Senior Center.
While most everyone knows about the Senior Center and all the activities going on there, they are not aware of the home delivery meal program provided by the Senior Center. There are many senior adults, while they can still live in their home, that are basically bound to their home for various reasons. This program is critical to ensuring that they are provided a good, hot, nutritious lunch five days a week. Cynthia Winegard with the Senior Center and Paige Landry with New Beacon Hospice see first hand the need for this program. Cynthia, living in the community knows the importance of developing a relationship with the clients that attend the senior center. This same concept applies even more to those that are home bound and are unable to come to the center.
Our goal for this breakfast is to:
1) Raise awareness of the program.
2) Show the importance of the program.
3) Raise funds to support the program.
We will be seeking local businesses and community members for sponsorships. As a sponsor, you have the opportunity to show your passion and support for the senior adults of our community. Tickets for the all you can eat pancake breakfast are $7 each.
There will be information available at the breakfast about the home bound meal delivery program and the services New Beacon offers to our community. You will have the opportunity to eat in before work or take your breakfast to work with you.
The "Pancakes For a Purpose" will be held on Friday, May 18th from 6 am - 10 am at the Brent Senior Center. If you are interested in being a sponsor, purchasing a ticket for the breakfast or making a donation contact Cynthia @ 205-926-3968 or Paige @ 205-267-9512.
